Day 4 progress:
Not as much progress as I would have liked but the front end is nearly together now.
I know I need to replace the left hand CV joint boot soon so that’s a pain. Need to order them 1st so will crack on for now and come back to it.
Found out that the plastic bits in question are tools that are provided. How they work and what they work on I’ve not idea!!

I'm wondering if what you are feeling is the resistance of the fluid doing what it should, what weight of diff oil did you put in there? heavier fluid will make the wheels want to rotate at the same time, but allow them not too when the ground resistance is greater than the diff action. unless it is some serious binding or if you are hearing clicking/gear noise.
definitely would want someones input on this to confirm my thought.
could also be because the gears haven't worn together yet.

I think you could be right.
I’ll know more when I get going with the rear of the car!
Thanks D3MON

Middle of winter here and glorious. Those temps are celsius so 60 to 78 in Fahrenheit ? living the dream, lads?

Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. Sadly no additional progress to report but I’ve now got my work station set up so hopefully I’ll be able to start making a bit more progress soon.
I’ve also found a use for some half moon shaped discs of tree that I’ve had lying about for ages!

Hi everyone,
Happy bank holiday weekend to all those in the UK.
I’ll have some more progress to share tomorrow. I’ve now mounted the front drive to the chassis and I’m now in the process of building the transfer box.
It’s all much easier now i’m properly set up in my garage!

Hi all,
This update took a little longer than anticipated. I found that I was missing 2 x button head anodised cap screws which put a bit of a halt on things. Modelsport have arranged for their distributor to send replacements which I received really quickly so I’ll have a chance to build some more today.
So before the next session I thought I’d post my most recent updates.

Managed a bit more last night.
Had to improvise with a couple of screws and spacers as the instructions were a bit wrong and I missed some as well.
It’s starting to really take shape now.

Hey folks,
Had a great weekend of building!
I’ve only got dampers left to assemble as then it’s fitting the servos & engine!!
2 months to get to this point so it’s taken longer than I would have liked but I’m having a lot of fun doing it!!

It is looking great ,you will dread of putting it on the ground!......?

It is good though ,you are taking your time with it ,an be able to go back to it with a clear mind!....:thumbs-up:

Taking your time with the build gives you a thorough understanding of all the parts and how they are adjusted and what makes it all work.
I applaud that. It's people like you that will really enjoy this hobby instead of having something break and giving up. Keep enjoying the build and keep us posted.

Hi all.
Issues with wire connectors is all solved.
Remaining jobs are assemble shocks which is on hold until my shock shaft pliers turn up, build the clutch assembly onto the engine and then fit the engine plus pipe. Hopefully will be done in 2 weeks

Hello everyone,
Well I'm NEARLY there now … I'm just waiting for my suspension pliers to arrive so I can build shocks but otherwise that's it .. I am finished.
I've had to some a little cutting of the body shell to accommodate the pull start of the engine and the exhaust but that went OK.
I need to think about painting the body shell now and that I've really got no idea about. (that's for another post I think)

Now …. I'm a little bothered by the setup of the throttle body / brake horn and I could really do with some advice.
When the horn is in the neutral position where should the throttle be set? half open? closed? open? I've been assuming half open but honestly I'm not sure. I need advise please!

Thanks folks

Rich

looks awesome man! love seeing the updates!
I try to set my throttle/brake servo neutral at idle position as much as possible. you limit this with endpoints. doing this gives you the most travel in either direction allowing for maximum usability of the servo. also if the linkage tries over-extending it wont rotate to far to start coming back around. (with that linkage not really possible, but for some I've worked on turning to far started coming back around going backwards.)
painting bodies is so much fun, honestly its kind of addicting in itself lol.
